UPDATED 10.04.03/13.37:
THE BORED MOTHER WISHES TO THANK THE ARRANGER FOR SHAREDAY.
SHE WATCHED THE LIVE STREAM FROM THE DEBATE AT 1900 HRS UNTIL THE SECOND SPEAKER, AT WHICH POINT THE REALVIDEO STREAM WENT DOWN, AND SHE WAS LEFT IN THE DARK. SHE NEVER-THE-LESS HOPES THAT IT WAS AN ENLIGHTENING AFFAIR FOR THOSE WHO ATTENDED. SHE TAKES IT UPON HERSELF TO RELAY CONSEQUENT REPORTS, INCLUDING RESPONSES POSTED TO BB@BEK.NO REGARDING THIS EVENT, AS SHE FEELS THAT THESE INFORMAL RESPONSES REFLECT UNRESOLVED BUT MUCH DEBATED ISSUES REGARDING PUBLIC/PRIVATE/PIRATE SPACE/USE.

07.04.03/07.16 THE ARRANGER RESPONDS TO THIS SPECIAL SHAREDAY EDITION
07.04.03/13.24 JANNE STANG DAHL RESPONDS

BURN IN HELL, BURN FOR ART!
[ - SANDY STONE , 6cyberconf. June 97 ]
SHAREDAY MONDAY 7 APRIL 2003 BERGEN KUNSTHALL FROM 12 T0 24

The debate surrounding copying, downloading and distributing music files from the internet is still raging.
Questions relevant to this debate may include:

What is public space?
What is private use?
What is lawful copying?
What do you buy when you purchase a CD, medium or content?
How can musicians earn money when music costs nothing?
Is mp3 a death sentence for the record industry?

Are no women willing to participate in Shareday, or have we just not done enough research? Are women not interest in such burning issues? Do they not make music?

Shareday puts some of these issues into practise ......

SHAREDAY is not just a regurgitation of the eighties-style copyparty. We ask where the borders go, where the grey zones lie, and what is the law, what should be the law and, as such, how such laws could be practiced. We have no answer. Similarly we would like to ask why the speakers and sharers currently listed as participants in Shareday seem to be male.

We have invited an, as yet, exclusively male group of experts and people form the music branch to Landmark at 1900, 7th April because we have not been able to get hold of any female experts. We may just manage a few at the last minute, though.

AND THE ARRANGER RESPONDS TO THIS SPECIAL SHAREDAY EDITION LIKE THIS [07.04.03 .....
# whisper: There does seem to be a lack of female presence at this event right now.
AS I AM UNABLE TO ATTEND, BUT STILL WISH TO TAKE PART, HERE IS A LIST OF MP3'S PLUS SOME REALAUDIO/VIDEO STREAMS AND QT MUSIC VIDEOS AVAILABLE ON NOOD/MOTHERBOARD/LIVEART.ORG WEBSITE:

"June 14, 2000 | Today I want to talk about piracy and music. What is piracy? Piracy is the act of stealing an artist's work without any intention of paying for it. I'm not talking about Napster-type software. I'm talking about major label recording contracts." [Courtney Love]
