| A MESSAGE FROM MOSS | WELCOME TO OUR PARTY IN THE PAVILLION IN THE PARK!
We have called the event THE HOTWIRED LIVE ELECTRONIC RESISTANCE NETWORK ART PARTY PLAN because we will be working as a team in a continual process of construction and deconstruction of various happenings, both on- and offline, engulfed in the spirit of playful park ambience. The RESISTANCE element is paramount to us, as we will be hotwiring a host of analogue and digital gadgetry into a pavillion where there is not even running water installed, in the space of a short time. We expect chaos, we expect crashes, and we anticipate that the hive of activity this creates will be something to enjoy while you drink your beer and socialise.
From 8pm - 2am on Saturday and Sunday we should be connected to a parallel party in Toronto, Canada, via the internet. There will be online audio and visual jamming using a new software called Keystroke, developed by WAAG, (the Society for Old and New Media) in Amsterdam, who will give online support during the event. This will be the first time that Keystroke has been used so extensively - and publicly - as an online tool for artists, so we are very excited about the outcome. Michelle Teran (in Toronto) and Ellen Røed (in Moss) will be giving several Keystroke renditions, and we hope to be able to give visitors to our event in Moss the opportunity to try it out too.
Other happenings include live video jamming by Hans Christian Gilje, using a software with the provocative name "NATO", developed by the notoriuos m9ndfukc organisation.
We will also be showing some outrageous videos, including Japanarama - Japanese TV at it's worst/best. Watch out for the actor Ole Johan Skjelbred-Knudsen, who will give sporadic renditions of texts as they flow in from the www, and Kristopher Schau's intimate argument sound installation.

For those who like to know what's happening when, here is just a taste of some planned events which wiill emerge from the ambience: |
On Saturday, just outside the pavillion, Kristopher Schau will lead the construction of a popcorn machine from an original old Trabant (east german car), which will start in the early afternoon. How long this process will take, we don't know! But at any rate, the process will be something to follow. There will be a ceremoniuos "baring in" of the machine into the pavillion when it is finished, and the popcorn is free:D
At some point on Sunday Jon Øyvind Eggesbø will be wearing a see-through suit containing a a host of live eels which he will release into the lake by the pavillion. You will also be able to control Lara Croft (the Tomb Raider heroine) in the flesh via a user-friendly console. Kristine Øren is Lara!
