PUBLIC PRESENTATION:
LOCATION SCOUTING IN FREDRIKSTAD'S OLD TOWN
24 JANUARY 2006
I shortly have to put forward a plan for the public presentation and evaluation of my project which will take place October - November 2006. As the final presentation venue has not yet been clarified I took a walkabout with Toril Frydenlund through Fredrikstad's old town to look at several possible locations.
Toril runs the guest house in the old town, but also helps the Norwegian theare Academy when alternative lvenues are required for different functions at the Academy.
The most promising building was Fort Kongsten (1685), one of the outer defenses of the stronghold of Fredrikstad. It lies on a small hill overlooking the river.

But I have to evaluate the use of this venue in relation to presenting my project in the Black Box Theatre at the Academy.
PROS: Exotic location. Atmospheric. Intimate space.
CONS: Takes some effort for a public to get there. Painted white inside. Not
close to the town/academy facilities. No network connection installed. Interior
painted white. Do I really want a historical military setting?
I need more time to think about this .......
