MEETING WITH CARLE LANGE
at my studio in Oslo

Carle is head of the scenography department at The Norwegian Theatre Academy, and acts as my secondary supervisor. The image above shows him attempting to remove a difficult screw from the pump organ.

The main topic of the meeting was to update Carle on my progress and to talk about eventual spatial aspects of the realization of the Emotion Organ. When he saw the organ in its deconstructed state he asked the following question:

Should it be
- a kind of ritualistic instrument where the original organ structure is retained,
- a modernistic de/reconstruction where the organ parts do not necessarily have to be put back together as they are supposed to, and the workings of the organ (including the technified parts) are revealed, or
- a combination of the two?
