PRODUCTION MEETINGS AND DISCUSSIONS WITH PER PLATOU AND ELLEN RØED
When Ellen invited me to be the moderator of "Come on Petunia" (see
the Petunia file in the time line (on the right!) for more info.) it seemed
an awesome task. The subjected of structuring time in time-based art seemed
so general that it was hard to define the intentions of the event. Paradoxically,
time became a big problem - or the lack of time, for producing an event of
6-7 days that should include a seminar where all participants (as well as
invited guest speakers) presented their processes and time-structuring strategies,
while leaving enough time to focus on hands-on collaborative art working processes.
Finally Ellen decided to borrow the title "Come on Petunia" from
Gary Hill, which was great, because the moderating strategy then became to
organise a two day seminar as input, and then facilitate the process of letting
things get in a muddle in the remaining workshop period - and trust that something
worthwhile would come out of it.
At the same time I was also approached to contribute to the Bergen International
Film Festival Exhibition, and, together with Per, came up with the concept
of "Jeg tok min nystemte ...." (see the file in the timeline (to
the right!) for more info). I approached Ellen to ask if she would like to
collaborate ....... She said, "yes" .......
